Ms. Anu Suraj

Cofounder, Managing Trustee

Ms. Anu Suraj is a mental health and wellness professional who is passionate in empowering the next generation and fine-tuning them to be good human beings. She is a visionary who is an active crusader, and mentor of Swaraksha, working towards Child Protection, Child Safety, and Child Rights. She is currently consulting in a wellness & counselling centre based in Cochin and a psychotherapy centre based in Chennai.

Ms. Anu is an Internationally certified therapeutic Yoga Instructor, & a health /wellness coach who believes in the power of self-integration and healing. She is currently the Vice-president of Kerala Mental Health Council, & member of Kerala Clinical Counsellors Association. She is also trained in Isralean form of self-defence called KRAV-MAGA.

Her skills in Indian classical dance and her expertise in Expressive Arts Therapy has been put to use to mould, counsel and heal children affected by trauma. She has been contributing to society through various social initiatives for the past 8 years touching the lives of more than 3 lakh children & adults. She has jointly worked with Law Enforcements, Educational Institutions, Other governmental & non-governmental organizations in coordinating programs to empower Children and Women.

She has been awarded Forever Star Awards by Star Network for her contribution to social work in the category- mental health and wellness. She has been selected as Iconic Woman of the year for services rendered to humanity by Eastern Group Bhoomika Foundation. She was selected as one out of 10 women changemakers in Kerala by Vanitha Magazine and she has been honoured by Police Department for her presentation “Sadairyam Sthree” -a theoretical dance ensemble.

Mr. Suraj CS

Cofounder, Settlor

Mr. Suraj has been instrumental in laying Swaraksha’s base and foundation. Swaraksha is his baby and it is his idea that had given birth to this organisation. Suraj is an IT professional and has done his engineering graduation. He currently works in an IT firm and is a rock-solid support for the organisation. He has coordinated the social media and other visual media platforms of the organisation and has been pioneer in arranging funds for the organisation by bringing in various CSR opportunities from concerned citizens and firms.

Mrs. Anita Pradeep

Joint Secretary, Founding Member

Mrs. Anita has been one of the key trustees of the organisations from the start. She had helped in laying a strong foundation. She is also a mentor at Swaraksha. Formerly a preschool teacher with Time kids, a home baker and an Autism resource person, Anita is a person with lots of experience and creativity. She is currently the Member of the Advisory board of Autism Club Ernakulam. She is also autism resource person and one of the cofounders of TogetherWeCan – an organisation working for inclusion and for upholding rights of the differently abled children. She has been an active participant and contributor since its inception. She handles the preschool campaigns and has been conducting sessions through puppetry, dolls, role plays and dance dramas.. She also concentrates more on sessions conducted at special schools for parents of children with special needs.

Mrs. Sajina Arun

Legal Professional, Treasurer

Ms. Sajina Arun has been actively involved in laying down the strong foundations of the organization along with the others. She has been educating and sensitizing society as a whole on POSCO, legal rights, POSH, DV Act etc. and empowering them towards various forms and types of harassment and abuse. She presents case studies in the form of stories in an easily understandable manner for children. Her age-appropriate conversations with children have also made her a favorite among little ones. She is an excellent team player and she has been a key influencer in bringing in associations with people from the judiciary and law enforcement.

Mrs. Soumya Nair

Secretary, External Administration

Ms. Soumya Nair has been very key team player in bringing the organization and members together. She coordinates sessions with very small children. She sensitizes kids on personal safety through dolls, puppets and role plays. She has shouldered many responsibilities starting from handling administration activities to mentoring little ones. She is a talented and creative dancer, designer with a passion for creative arts. She lends a patient listening ear to children in voicing out their concerns.

Mrs. Vini Vijay

Joint Secretary

Ms. Vini Vijay is a doctor who is currently working as a lecturer at IIMS, Kochi. Apart from that she has held roles as personality development trainer, and as motivational speaker. At Swaraksha she is a trainer who focuses on mentoring tweens, teens, and adolescents on personal safety and against different forms of maltreatments. Her professional training skills in genres of dance has been helpful in creating awareness on substance abuse, peer pressure, child empowerment and social responsibility. She helped spearhead an event for Thrissur Police Dept wherein she had choreographed and coordinated a dance ensemble called - Sadairyam Sthree. She was the co-script writer of Swaraksha’s second short movie – ‘Thanal’ which reflected on many social issues. Apart from that she has done videos to create awareness on dating, relationships and violence and has supported many parents through her sessions. Ms. Vini remains very approachable as a mentor and she delivers matters subtly to the audience. She has been indispensable in taking the organisation one step forward.
